Security Deposit and Accidental Damage Program Information

Security Deposit

We offer our Accidental Damage Program, defined below. If you prefer not to purchase the Accidental Damage Program, a security deposit of $500 will be added to the balance of your reservation, which is refundable up to 45 days after your departure less any damage fees. Your security deposit refund is issued in the form of a check and mailed to the address on the reservation.

Accidental Damage Program

The Accidental Damage Program is offered for a non-refundable fee of $89, plus tax. The Accidental Damage Program is provided to you and all travelers during the reservation period, provided you are listed on the rental agreement. During the term of your reservation, you will not be held responsible for repairs and/or replacement costs from damage caused by yourself or others in your party for up to $2,000. If any damage occurs during your stay, please notify our office immediately.

Accidental Damage Program is not provided for loss due to:

a. Inclement weather or natural disaster;
b. Your intentional acts or gross negligence;
c. Normal wear and tear of the real or personal property assigned to the Premises;
d. Any damage that occurs if you are in violation of the lease agreement;
e. Loss, theft or damage to any personal effects owned by you or brought on the covered reservation period by you;
f. Loss, theft or damage caused by any person other than you or your traveling companions with whom you share the Premises reservation unless substantiated by a police report.

Your Duties in the Event of Accidental Damage:
You must:
1. Take all reasonable, necessary steps to protect the property and prevent further damage to it;
2. Report the damage immediately to Sunset Properties staff.
